Our Journey
Our Story
Seventeen years of service that began with one appeal, one community and a refusal to look away.
The Beginning
How It Began
In 2009, catastrophic flooding left thousands of families in northern Pakistan without homes or clean water. A small group of volunteers in Birmingham began collecting in their local masjid, intending to raise enough for a single lorry of food. Within three weeks they had funded eleven.
What became clear during that response was that emergency aid alone was never enough. Families needed water that did not run out when the trucks left, schools their children could return to, and an income that survived the next season. Love Hope Relief was registered to do both: respond fast, then stay.
Growth came slowly and deliberately. Every new country was opened only where we had a trusted local partner who knew the community better than we ever could — a principle that still governs where and how we work.
