Masjid Construction

Help Build a Masjid — A Sadaqah Jariyah for Life

A masjid is far more than a building. It is where a community gathers five times a day, where children learn to read the Qur'an, where marriages are conducted and where families turn in times of grief. In villages with no community infrastructure at all, the masjid becomes the centre of everything.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Love Hope Relief has completed masjid builds and major renovations across The Gambia, Uganda and Pakistan — each one now serving hundreds of worshippers daily, with wudu facilities, toilets and a dedicated space for children's classes.

Yet many communities are still praying outdoors, on bare ground or under a sheet of corrugated iron that leaks through the rainy season. In those villages a proper masjid is not a luxury — it is the difference between a congregation that holds together and one that slowly disperses.

“Whoever builds a masjid for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.”

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ — Sahih al-Bukhari & Muslim

We build masjids in rural communities across The Gambia, Uganda and Pakistan, always at the request of the local community and always with their involvement in the build. Every masjid we complete also functions as a maktab, providing free Islamic education to the children of the village in the mornings and evenings.

An Important Tradition

Building masjids is among the oldest and most beloved traditions of this ummah. The Prophet ﷺ built Masjid Quba on arriving in Madinah before anything else was established, setting the pattern that a community begins with a place of worship.

You can fund an entire masjid in one donation and have it built in your name or the name of a loved one, contribute a share of a build alongside other donors from as little as £500, or spread the full amount over instalments.
