Water Wells

Give Clean Water — A Sadaqah Jariyah That Never Stops Flowing

In the villages we serve, collecting water is a daily journey measured in hours, usually walked by women and girls, often ending at a pond shared with livestock. The water they carry home is the reason so many children are sick, and the reason so many girls never finish school.

With donor support we have installed hand pumps, deep boreholes and solar-powered wells that now serve tens of thousands of people every day — water that arrives at the doorstep, clean, year-round and free.

Water Wells project

There are still communities on our survey lists relying entirely on open water sources, waiting for a well to be funded before the next dry season sets in.

“The best charity is giving water to drink.”

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ — Musnad Ahmad

We install wells in The Gambia, Uganda and Pakistan, each one sited after a hydrological survey and handed over to a trained village committee who maintain it. Every well is registered, GPS-logged and photographed on completion.

An Important Tradition

Providing water is described in the Sunnah as the most excellent form of charity, and the Companions competed to dig wells for their communities. It remains the clearest example of sadaqah jariyah there is.

You can fund a well outright and have it named for a loved one, or contribute a share towards a larger solar-powered system serving several villages.
